Today I am grateful for…

  1. my parents. They were both there for me today when I had back-to-back breakdowns. Love them.
  2. getting my room halfway clean. It’s a start.
  3. spandex. I had every intention of working out, but instead I wore workout clothes all day. At least I felt fit… and comfy.
  4. Across the Universe on the CW. There’s never anything exciting on our TV. Although I only caught the last 10 minutes…
  5. However, a movie called “Lifted” came on right after Across the Universe and it was a tear-jerker. It was nice to get a good, cathartic cry in.
  6. a nice evening hanging out with my roommate. That hasn’t happened in a while.

Today I am grateful for…

  1. effortlessly waking up. It’s usually a struggle.
  2. the exciting opportunity to interview the lead of Ballet Theater San Luis Obispo‘s production of Robin Hood on KCPR radio.
  3. Julian Rossi’s (aka Robin Hood) ability to chatter as much as I can. We managed to fill an entire hour.
  4. having a little back-up to help me out my first time in the KCPR booth.
  5. beautiful weather on the Central Coast.
  6. getting outside in the beautiful weather. Katie and I walked downtown for a lovely lunch date at Chipotle… I know. So classy.
  7. and following our lunch date, a little dessert at Batch. So sinful, but so delicious!
  8. a little afternoon shopping. Katie’s a bad influence…
  9. starting what will soon be oliviadegennaro.com. Right now, it’s just a shell of a website. But it’s still exciting!

Today I am grateful for…

  1. taking the next step towards an exciting new opportunity in journalism.
  2. getting great deals on my textbooks so far.
  3. understanding and kind people.
  4. a (rare) relaxing morning in CPTV.
  5. applying for scholarships. I’m sure my mom is more thankful for that than I am…
  6. realizing how much I’ve accomplished while filling out scholarship applications.
  7. my ability to pull essays out of thin air. Short narrative? No problem.
  8. painlessly surviving the first week of Spring quarter.

Today I am grateful for…

  1. making some serious progress on my internship project.
  2. not having to share. I’m not very good at sharing…
  3. making it to Farmer’s Market. It’s my new Thursday night ritual.
  4. my friend, Katie letting me talk her ear off and vent. I needed that.
  5. self control. It helps me avoid regret.
  6. one of the only Thursday nights of the quarter I’ll be able to spend away from the CPTV studio.
  7. getting caught up on all my favorite TV shows. Oh, Grey’s, how I’ve missed you!

Today I am grateful for…

  1. waking up to a funny text from my best friend. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start my day.
  2. the first day of Spring quarter. I am so ready for a clean slate.
  3. my first class being at 11:00 a.m. I am not a morning person.
  4. trying out my new Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk shampoo and conditioner. My hair smelled like coconut all day and it was so smooth that I didn’t have to straighten it after I blow dried it. So far, I’m loving it!
  5. getting to spend some quality time with the fabulous Patti Piburn this quarter. I’m so excited!
  6. dabbling in an exciting new project and broadening my horizons. The more experience, the stronger my résumé.
  7. perfect timing.
  8. some of my peers welcoming me into their already-established class project with open arms. Love my journalism people.
  9. really loving all of my classes! (minus Economics… but that doesn’t really count)
  10. getting my motivation mojo back. I’m back in my groove. I’m crossing off items on my to-do list and getting things done!

Today I am grateful for…

  1. not having class on Tuesdays and Thursdays this quarter. It meant one more day of Spring Break for me, spent productively interning at KSBY.
  2. a friendly smile. A little smile can go a long way.
  3. getting a little cat nap in before a very long night.
  4. spending some time “bar-hopping” with some great friends. Even though, for some of us, bar-hopping meant walking from bar to bar and standing outside… the perks of being the designated driver.
  5. some much-needed reassurance from a friend. Sometimes I need to hear other people be excited for me to let myself get excited about something.
  6. late-night television. I could not sleep when I finally got home at nearly 3:00 a.m.
